For anyone that is not familar with Ipsy, it is a $10/month subscription bag. It comes with a themed bag specifically for each month and approximately 5 beauty products from deluxe samples to full size. Also, they have a points system where you can get a certain number of points for reviewing (and sharing your reviews on social media accounts) the items that you receive. You can redeem those points for beauty products that change every so often. If you are looking to sign up, you can do so using my referral link. I am not affiliated with Ipsy, but I do receive points for every person that signs up with my link, so I would greatly appreciate it!
Before you actually receive the bag, you have an opportunity to preview your items by logging onto your account. Initially, I had mixed feelings about the products I saw I would be receiving. It was mostly because two of the items, I have never tried before, but, then again, I did sign up for Ipsy in order to try out new things. The bag itself is denim fabric lined with neon orange, and the zipper is in the shape of lips, which I thought was pretty cute.
What’s in the bag?
NYX Butter Lipstick in Ripe Berry (Full size: $6 on the NYX Cosmetics website) – This was a full size product that I received in the bag. The lipstick is smooth and creamy, and I am in love with the color. I usually tend to go for berry shades so I am glad that I received this. It is something that I can see myself wearing quite often.
BellaPierre Cosmetics Volumelash Waterproof Mascara (Full size: $20 on the Bellapierre Cosmetics website) – This was also a full size item in the bag. The packaging is one of those bulky mascaras. I don’t normally like these type of mascaras for the obvious reason of taking up more space. I was not too crazy about this mascara. It claims to be a volumizing and waterproof mascara. I did not see much volume to my lashes but I did like the applicator. It does separate and coat each lash, so I can see myself using this as a base with another mascara for a more dramatic look.
Seraphine Botanicals Luminude in Primrose (Full size: $24 on the Seraphine Botanicals website) – This was another full size item I received in the bag. I initially thought it was a deluxe sample, but I compared the size to what they sell on their website, and it was exactly the same. I was not too impressed with this product. It’s a highlighter, which claims to help with acne, wrinkles and eczema. After sampling the product on my hand, I already knew that it is not something I would use. The reason being it is very sparkly and glittery, which I don’t normally like. Other than that, it does have a nice glow and sets well on my skin. The packaging states that it is a vegan, GMO-free and Gluten-free product. It is also 100% cruelty-free. So if you are someone that likes to have glitter in their highlighter, then this might work for you.
True Botanicals Resurfacing Moisture Mask (Full size: $90 on the True Botanicals website) – This was a deluxe sample that I received. I have never used this brand before so it was totally new to me. I was excited to try it out. It claims to give your skin a natural glow within five minutes. It also claims to moisturize the skin. It does have a strong scent to it, so if you are sensitive to scents, I would be cautious. It is not an unpleasant scent, but it is very strong. After using it, I did not see a noticeable glow to my face but it did moisturize my skin.
Luxie Rose Gold Blush Brush 514 ($18 on the Luxie Beauty website) – This was also a full size item in the bag. I love getting brushes in my bag. It is probably the most exciting thing to look forward to. I can never have too many brushes, mostly because, I will admit, I am lazy when it comes to cleaning them. This a synthetic, cruelty-free brush and would be perfect to highlight with.
Overall, I was pleased with the products I received this month. Let me know in the comments below what you received in your glambag this month!
